Glass Ensemble presents a selection of highlights from Handel’s iconic Messiah with a Passion and Eastertide flavour. Amongst this selection will feature many favourite arias and choruses from the larger work, performed in a captivating arrangement for upper voices.
Nowell! Nowell!
Glass Ensemble presents its annual Christmas concert, featuring Malcolm Archer's "Nowell! Nowell!" , a dynamic carol sequence for upper voices which combines ethereal Gregorian chant and charming folk melodies with a fresh, modern feel. Featured alongside a stunning selection of seasonal music by Rutter and Palestrina, with a sprinkling of well-loved traditional Christmas carols.
Summer is icumen in
A concert of music on the theme of summer and the passage of time. The programme centres around ‘An English Day-Book’ by Elizabeth Poston, conceived as a mirror to Britten’s ‘A Ceremony of Carols’. The piece had fallen into obscurity until it was republished in May 2024; Glass Ensemble is proud to give one of the first performances of this new edition. The concert also includes music by Holst, Grieg and Gershwin.

A history of protest through song. Expect a powerful and moving a cappella programme featuring music created in times of change or adverse political conditions. Including traditional music from South Africa, USA and Guyana, and by Arvo Pärt, Florence Price and Undine Smith Moore.
Hymn To The Dawn
Glass Ensemble are pleased to present a concert celebrating the wonder of the natural world. The beautiful combination of female voices, piano and harp will perform a thoughtful and compelling programme celebrating the abundance of nature and give warnings of future scarcity due to the climate emergency. Glass Ensemble presents a concert of sacred music in the stunning surroundings of Douai Abbey, featuring Fauré's sublime 'Cantique de Jean Racine', alongside music from the 16th century to the present day.

Folk Songs of the Four Seasons
An afternoon of traditional music from Britain and America, a solo set by Maz O’Connor, and brand new orchestrations of her songs for choir, soloist, piano and guitar.
Songbird
The twenty female voices of Berkshire based Glass Ensemble present a concert celebrating female artists from the last 60 years, including Eva Cassidy, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell and more. Expect a range of music for voices and piano, through soul, folk, RnB, jazz and gospel. Alongside this, the group will be exploring medieval and contemporary music by female composers including Hildegard of Bingen, Judith Weir, Kerry Andrew and Sheena Phillips.
